Herding Fun Day August 27th

Summer Match a HIT!

PHOTOS

Our match was another fun day at the college. Gail Hardcastle stepped in to judge and Randy, Lisa and Kay brought out some of their veterans to enjoy the activities.

Our lunch crew did their usual expert job with Chuck manning the barbeque and Joyce keeping everything moving on the serving tables.

Obedience and Rally ran smoothly under Paula's watchful eye. Here are some letters we received:

Paula,
I just wanted to thank you for putting on today's show and go.  It was the perfect fun match -- a great location, nice people, and a fun time for all.
Please extend my thanks to the GSD club for allowing all the other breeds to have a wonderful day -- and of course thank the judges etc.
   It was a delight!
Debbie

What a GREAT MATCH, thank you so much.
Next time I will know where I'm going so I will be there to help set up.
Thanks again,

Jane

Good work!! Well Done!! It was a blast!!

Jerry Wilce came to the match. He has decided not to move to Texas after all and hopefully he and Roxie will come join us more often.

HERDING CAMP

The Herding Camp was a huge success. Three of our members took part in a week of C-course herding. Photos.

Get Ready!!

It's Right Around the Corner!!

The Herding Committee has been working overtime getting the Herding Fun Day organized. With lots of help from the staff of Brigand's Hideout, the instinct testing and a 2 day C-Course clinic are now set.

Most of us have never worked sheep and have never seen the tending style that is the native style for our breed. If you are serious about the breed and want to know why the standard calls for what it does, come watch the Tending. You will see why a GSD looks and acts the way it does (or should). You will be amazed at how your dog, without any herding titles anywhere on the pedigree, can suddenly bring all that genetic information to the forefront and turn into a working machine!

If you are trying to condition a dog for the conformation ring, herding will improve fitness and confidence. If you want to find a way cross-train your obedience or agility dog, herding will add to the enthusiasm. If you want to find something fun to do with the bored housedog -- THIS IS IT!!

Heck, even the Dog Whisperer suggests herding for the high drive companion who needs an outlet for his energy.

So download the registration form and sign up!

   YOUR DOG WILL THANK YOU!!
